Services in Ohio and across the country

Welcome. I’m happy you’re here.

You may have found yourself here after struggling for some time. You may be pregnant or newly postpartum, grappling with the physical, emotional, and environmental changes that come with such a transition. You may be a tired or stressed out parent, trying to “have it all” but always falling behind the endless to-do’s. You may be trying to parent your children with intention, but struggling to let go of habits that come from your own childhood. You may be struggling to get your child to sleep through the night, with significant impacts on your own mental health and well-being.

You’re not alone.

Being a parent is really hard.

Many people, especially mothers, experience a variety of complex and complicated emotions when it comes to parenting. There is often a societal pressure to “treasure every moment,” but this can be hard when your baby is sick, your toddler won’t sleep, your home always feels messy, dinner needs to be made every night, you’re thinking about appointments and weekend plans and date nights and groceries….the list goes on and on!

This balancing act, of trying to “do it all” can lead to feelings of being overwhelmed, exhausted, angry, anxious, or sad.

There can be some relief.

By working together, we can find ways to better understand or manage these feelings, to feel validated and supported, and to find better balance within your family and partnership.

To feel better.

My name is Dr. Bridget Jones.

I’m a psychologist located in Dayton, Ohio. I provide therapy and parent training services in Ohio and across the country. I work with women, pregnant people, and new parents who are struggling with the transition to pregnancy or parenting and want to feel more enjoyment and confidence in their new identity and relationships.

Therapy Services

As a parent, I know how difficult the day-to-day can be. By using evidence-based treatments, we can learn more about

  • the what and why of your feelings

  • how to turn the volume down on the self-critical voice in your head

  • find meaning in your relationships

  • understand how to balance all of your competing identities

  • find enjoyment in your life

What are evidence-based treatments?

Evidence-based treatments are techniques used in therapy that are based in research and proven to be effective.

I know that therapy can be a commitment, both financially and emotionally. I value your investment, which is why I want to use strategies that will help you feel better and feel some relief from the stress you are experiencing.

Couples Coaching Services

Becoming a parent not only shifts your individual world, but you and your partner’s world as well. Before kids, the two of you likely had a good routine down. Adding children into the mix can make it feel like chaos, with your relationship coming in last as a priority.

By working together, we can

  • improve your ability to connect with each other

  • divide the mental load/home tasks evenly and effectively

  • increase quality time together

  • decrease the feeling of being “just roommates”

  • prioritize your relationship
